appletv+ app on an LG 43UT73006LA smart tv

The Appletv+ app is not working correctly so im getting an error informing me that the video i want to watch cant be downloaded because i have a problem with my wifi network. which is strange because im not having a problem with NETflix or any other streaming app.

I have rebooted my router

i have removed the appletv app and reinstalled it

I have disconnected the tv from power and restarted it


I still cannot sort out the problem so ive called apple support tech and they havent been able to sort it out either!!

Has anyone else had this problem my TV is an LG 43UT730006LA model and i have only had it for two weeks

any help or advice would be appreciated michael

I have the exact same situation. I bought the tv a week ago and the appletv app worked fine until 3 days ago. I went through all of the LG suggested procedures short of the factory reset and nothing changed. LG is blaming appletv since my other apps work fine and the appletv app works on my phone. I am tempted to return the TV since it is only a week old. I hope that Samsung and Sony aren’t having the same issue. I hope you were sble to resolve the issue.

Alright; you have already done some recommended troubleshooting steps.

That seems to be a 2024 model. Nice.


  • Please check the date and time and timezone on your TV. Secure SSL/TLS/HTTPS connections require a fairly accurate timestamp. Apple apps wouldn’t want to fall back to insecure connections.
  • Please check the DNS server in use. Some possible (custom) choices may not cover all servers that Apple likes to use. Ideally, the devices would request DNS settings from the router (‘automatic’), and the router would have its own (custom) settings, or copy from the ISP (‘automatic’).
  • Please check for TV software updates. Especially shortly after device release, some initial issues may get fixed through updates.
