Apple News+ Crossword Formatting Problem

Since loading iOS18.1 the Apple News+ Crossword puzzle on my iPad Pro (4th gen) does not display correctly. The screen does not show the entire puzzle, cutting off the sides. I can scroll to one side or the other, but if I solve a clue or enter a letter, the puzzle immediately shifts cutting off the sides again.

I’ve been doing the puzzle for a couple of years and didn’t have this problem on previous versions of the iOS. Any suggestions? It’s annoying enough that I have stopped trying to solve the crossword which is one of the features I use the most in the News app.

This happens when using iPad screen horizontally (and using my attached keyboard). When turning the iPad to vertical orientation you can see the entire crossword grid but obviously using the keyboard this was is awkward and difficult. Apple, please fix this!

In IOS 17 I used to be able to work around this by having the side menu bar open. In the new IOS there is no side bar option.

Please display the full puzzle between the columns of clues. Scrolling the puzzle is broken. If this is because the crossword is reading my font size from the settings, please have it ignore that because scrolling doesn’t work.

Fix it. The scrolling problem existed in IOS17 and many just worked around it. Now you’ve made it more of a problem.
