Cannot drag account payment methods to reorder the default method

When in Apple account details, I have two payment methods listed. However, I cannot drag the account payment methods to reorder the default method - although the page says that I should be able to do this.

Any ideas?

Doesn't matter which payment card, balance or whatever

The payment selection is broken on macOS

The dragging mouse cursor symbol will appear when you hover over it, but you can't drag the payment methods

If only works if you try it like 100 times, sometimes it moves and snaps back

99% of the time nothings happens at all

I tried different methods, mastercard, amex, paypal etc

Doesn't make a difference

But it works on iPhone

To be honest the App Store on macOS is really buggy

(If you move the App Store window between 2 identical monitors the window automatically resizes to wrong dimensions etc things like that...)

I guess you can't do much about it besides bug reports and use the iPhone payment settings

The payment system for app purchases is flawed anyway

Whoever decided that only the first payment card can be used for App Store purchases needs a basic course about modern economy and fintech lol

Imagine the struggle I have because I need to change my payment method every single time just to separate my private and business purchases

On top you got the apple care subscriptions etc also running on the first payment method

So you always need to change cards at the right time, to prevent accidental subscription payments on the wrong card

It's a mess...

If one is personal account balance, that always goes first.

● If an app or feature on your device is not working, not appearing, or is restricted (grayed out), a frequent reason is it may have been disabled using Screen Time, or by an IT administrator if you are using a device owned by an employer or educational institution.

- Read this support article If your Apple ID or other options are greyed out in Settings —> If your Apple Account is grayed out in Settings - Apple Support

Tap Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy > scroll to Allow Changes and turn on.

- If the device is managed (Settings > General > VPN & Device Management), contact the IT department that is doing the managing.
