I rely on speaking to Siri to do things for me

Unlike many people in reviews saying they didn’t need Siri much I need to talk to Siri because of my accessibility needs. Asking it to do things for me change settings etc and really helpful . But as you know Siri is also very limited and often dumb. I am drawn to get iPhone 16 hoping the next round of intelligence will make the Siri hearing me more smart and remember the settings doing things for me. Do you think this is on horizon ?

I agree - it will be great if Siri becomes more intuitive and practical. Let's hope this is in the pipeline.

Two other suggestions that may help you.

  1. Shortcuts can allow you to make your own Siri commands. They are not the easiest thing to get your head around but can be useful to simplify tasks down to one command.
  2. Vocal Shortcuts has been added to iOS18 (in the accessibility section in settings). Full disclosure, I have not looked into this feature in detail yet, but it may also be worth investigating.

The issue with Siri not stopping after a request is annoying and an issue that is causing issues for people who rely on voice. I don't have a solution for this issue.

I hope that helps.

thank you! I didnt know about voice control. it helps because It removes saying "hey Siri" . even one word takes energy from me and I try to minimize steps.

I however would like to see Siri becomes smart so I can talk to it in relation to telling me things when I ask it questions, remembering what I do .

one of my problems is that it goes into speaking mode and you cant stop it
