like the title suggests, the emoji keyboard size after updating to 18.1 is waaay too big. It's really frustrating that I can't find a way to change it. Anyone had any luck solving this issue?

I found a way to at least get the stickers off the emoji keys. Go to keyboards on the settings and scroll all the way down to the bottom, you will see “stickers” and just un select it.

Go to settings: general: keyboard: scroll down to the bottom is stickers. Turn it off. It worked for me.

You can't resize them to the size they were before iOS 18. For years, people complained Emoji's were too small. Apple listened and made them larger. I'm not sure why it's an issue for some that the size changed. I find it easier to find the right emoji now that they are bigger. But if this is really bothering you, you can let Apple know your thoughts here --> Feedback - iPhone - Apple

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue. Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of this issue, if you don't report it to them.

They did change the size of the emojis after users sent feedback complaining that were too small. If you would like something different or maybe an option to adjust the size, then you will need to send feedback to Apple also. Have you used the provided feedback link to let Apple know how you feel? Apple will not read your post here.
Previously users complained that the emojis were too small, so they listened and made them bigger. Sending them feedback is the only way you can ever expect any change or maybe even an option to vary the size.

You are not speaking to Apple here. The Support site is made up of users just like you. You will see the Feedback link that has been provided many times here and that would be the way to let Apple know how you feel. Users previously complained about the emojis being too small and apparently their voice was heard. If you want your voice heard, I suggest using that same method. Maybe they can provide a setting to allow both sizes.

Apple won't see your post here and I would not count on them monitoring anyones usage data. They rely simply on users providing feedback like they did previously when they complained that the emoji's were too small. Having an option to change the size is not a bad idea that may make everyone happy, but they will never know if no one gives them that feedback using the link that has been posted.

Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Stickers, and turn the switch off.
Problem solved, stickers no longer appear in your Emoji keyboard.

1. Apple is not here, this is a user to user forum.
2. Saying fix it would indicate that something is broken, it's not. Users requested to have the icons larger and Apple accommodated them.
If you don't like it, then let Apple know about it here -
Seen a response, you can turn the stickers off in the keyboard setting all the way at the bottom!

Choose iOS 18.1
iOS 18.1.1 was just a small security update and the bigger emojis that were requested from previous users complaining that they were too small is seen in 18.1 as well.

In fact, you should buy whatever you think best meets your needs. But if you think Samsung or Google or any other manufacturer doesn't change things, think again. It apparently made sense for the users that requested that the emojis should be bigger. You can use the same feedback link that they did and maybe suggest having an option for both sizes, then everyone will be happy. Apple won't see your post here and if you don't use that feedback link, they will have no idea that you feel that way.
