Emoji Keyboard size is large after updating to iOS 18.1

like the title suggests, the emoji keyboard size after updating to 18.1 is waaay too big. It's really frustrating that I can't find a way to change it. Anyone had any luck solving this issue?

Apple I HATE the size of these emojis. It makes it a chore to scroll through and it takes much longer to find the one I’m looking for because there’s less emojis on the screen at a time. I HATE that I can’t adjust the size myself. PLEASE change this feature back to the way it was I don’t care if it makes certain Memojis, stickers, or genmojis in the future hard to see.

Apple stop making these useless updates nobody asked for. Change the size of the emojis, everybody’s eyes adjust differently.

They did change the size of the emojis after users sent feedback complaining that were too small. If you would like something different or maybe an option to adjust the size, then you will need to send feedback to Apple also. They will not see your post here, as this Support Site is simply made up of other user like you. Here is the Feedback link for you.

Just gonna add a comment to express my frustration with this change as well. At least include a setting in the iOS Keyboard Settings to choose the size of the emojis. For some people it might help to have larger icons, but for others including me it only means having to scroll even more to find a specific emoji. Please change this.

+1 was shocked after tonight’s update up to 18.1.1. Immediately started to search for an option to revert it back. Already reported this as a bug. I’m on pro max display and you can imagine how big they are now 😁

and not many people mentioned that buttons under emojis is way too small and dence. So even if I’m okay with new emoji’s size and want to use pagination, I almost can’t because it’s hard to pick the correct icon 🤦‍♂️

The empty spots are supposed to be where your stickers go. Its such a huge section and its weird to have random stickers floating around, especially when your trying to find the emojis that moved from the update. Its really annoying how the emojis i use a lot can’t all be on my screen at the same time, and also how much space my stickers take up. The spacing and sizing off the emojis is abysmal.

Just to echo what others are saying, I just did this update this morning and I wish I hadn’t. The new emoji size is atrocious and I hate it. I foresee Apple looking at whatever emoji use data they have in a couple months and start thinking “hmm why are so many people just not using emojis anymore?” BECAUSE YOU MADE IT AWFUL. pls revert or at least give us the option to change it. I’m sure it would be a fantastic accessibility OPTION.

The new keyboard is TERRIBLE. I used to use emojis in almost every message. Now I dread looking at them. Can we PLEASE go back? We are begging you.

Maybe read the thread you posted to. No, you can't go back. And you aren't writing anyone at Apple here. This is a user to user only forum. But the post just above your post, has a link you can use to tell Apple what you think, so use that.
