Emoji Keyboard size is large after updating to iOS 18.1

The empty spots are supposed to be where your stickers go. Its such a huge section and its weird to have random stickers floating around, especially when your trying to find the emojis that moved from the update. Its really annoying how the emojis i use a lot can’t all be on my screen at the same time, and also how much space my stickers take up. The spacing and sizing off the emojis is abysmal.

+1 was shocked after tonight’s update up to 18.1.1. Immediately started to search for an option to revert it back. Already reported this as a bug. I’m on pro max display and you can imagine how big they are now 😁

and not many people mentioned that buttons under emojis is way too small and dence. So even if I’m okay with new emoji’s size and want to use pagination, I almost can’t because it’s hard to pick the correct icon 🤦‍♂️

You are not addressing Apple here. This support site is just made up of users like you, with no power to change anything. Please review the provided information for feedback to Apple where they will read your message.

Maybe read the thread you posted to. No, you can't go back. And you aren't writing anyone at Apple here. This is a user to user only forum. But the post just above your post, has a link you can use to tell Apple what you think, so use that.

Fix WHAT problem? Apple made Emoji's larger on purpose. There is no problem to fix. Of course you responded to the first post, without reading further. Read the thread before you add a me too response.

OMG, please read the thread you just posted to past the first post. If you had, you'd already know you aren't speaking with Apple here, just other users. And throughout the thread, there is a Feedback link you can use to tell Apple what you think.

Keep in mind for years, people have complained the emoji's were too small. I felt they were too small and used the feedback link I just provided to you, to let Apple know my thoughts. So the feedback link does work, if enough people complain.

Please validate yoru likely erroneous assumption that HALF of Apple's users are upset about the change in Emoji size. There are millions upon millions upon millions upon millions of iPhone's being used in the world. Aside from a statistically insignificant number of people here complaining about this in comparison to the many millions of users who seeming aren't upset as they're certainly not here complaining, your assertion simply can't be validated.

But yes, you should use the feedback link to let Apple know your thoughts. It will take far more people than who have managed to find it objectionable enough to show up here on this, the worlds most widely used forum for all things Apple to get Apple to rethink this. But give it your best shot.

It makes perfect sense after years of people complaining the Emoji keyboard was too small. They used this link to ask Apple to make it bigger and Apple finally listened and did just that --> Feedback - iPhone - Apple

Agreed. I can’t find things as quickly now, and there IS no setting to change it. It’s seen as a “feature” when it’s become a hindrance.

Text size can be adjusted, but why not emoji size?

Same issue here. I was searching for the settings or some tips on web but it seems user can’t change the emoji keyboard size unless you download some 3rd party keyboard. I hope Apple will switch it back or allow users to choose size.

the new emoji keyboard is WAY too big! Please bring back the original size this is ridiculous. Maybe have an option to make it bigger for people with impaired vision, but for others allow us to go back to the original emoji keyboard size.

Same for me. I find it so much harder to find emojis, especially since the ones I used a lot I knew exactly where they were on rows and in categories. Making them bigger changed that, and just feels so disorienting. Make their size an option, Apple!
