"No Password" problem on one email account on iPhone

I have an iPhone 12 mini running iOS 18.1. Suddenly, probably after upgrading to 18 or 18.1, one of my email accounts would no longer connect to my provider’s email server. This account works fine on my iMac (os 14.6.1) and iPad (16.7.10). I have tried most all of the "solutions" found on the internet, but nothing resolves problem. Here is a list of what I’ve tried:

- changed password (multiple times)

- shutdown & restart iPhone (multiple times)

- hard shutdown of iPhone (multiple times)

- deleted account & tried to set up new account (multiple times)

- created new mail password on provider’s server

- compared all the information in the "new account" creation page with what is on my iPad, and I don’t see any difference.

After all of the above I still can’t create a new email account (to replace the one i deleted) on my iPhone. Every time i get the message:

No password provided for "***@orange.fr"

Please go to Mail Account Settings and enter a password

Doesn’t make much sense since I’m already in the Mail Account Settings, and a password is in the "password" field.

This is driving me crazy. PLEASE, if anyone can give me any guidance on how to fix this. I have a gmail account and 3 other "ora**.**" accounts on this same iPhone, and the problem is only with this account. Unfortunately this is my primary email account so not having access to it on my phone is problematic.

Thanks for any help

The next step is to contact your email provider or look at their help forum. Perhaps they now require 2FA.

2FA is not required. As mentioned above, I have several email accounts with this provider, both on this phone, my Mac, & my iPad, and only this one email account on my iPhone doesn't work. The problem must be something within my iPhone.
Anyone else have any ideas?

As mention above next step is to contact your email provider or look at their help site.
