all of my icloud notes disappeared from my notes app after agreeing to new terms and conditions just now

I went to « settings », « general », « ipad’s storage », « Notes », « uninstall app » and then « install app ».

That was the only thing that worked for me.

Update - well turns out when the 18.01 ios update loaded fully that cured the problem, so it appears that is the issue - so please disregard my previous post

All my notes during last year are gone. I tested everYthing listed here, I even checked with Apple support, but none of my last year notes were saved on iCloud and I lost everything that was planned, budgeted or implemented since July 2023 :( I am still freaking out and even my today’s checklist is gone. Heading to grab a calendar and going traditional moving forward. . Too expensive and not reliable anymore. I am not the owner of the data I have on my iPhone anymore!!! Apparently Notes app doesn’t work on local device!!!

this absolutely made me panic, I thought I've lost all my notes. I went to settings and selected OFF for syncing to iCloud, but didn't confirm, as it said notes will be deleted. However, just that every action seems to be working. I'm now waiting for my notes to be synced back to my phone again. Not good APPLE, not good. Older customers may not know how to deal with this. I'm not going to have to find an alternative back up solution, in case you do mess it up one day and I do lose my notes. I thought the whole point of iCloud was that I wouldn't have to do that!

Thanks for this suggestion!! After trying the other suggestions, except for uninstalling and reinstalling the app, I did the same. My notes started downloading pretty quickly, but it took a few hours and several refreshes to get them all back. A big whew!!!

Me too. I can view notes in iCloud online. Still trying to work out how to transfer them back to my phone. I contacted Apple Support and they had no idea how to do that which is pretty frustrating.

Notes disappeared some time after update to 17.7.1 on iPhone 11 Pro.

Glad that the above has helped some but it didn’t work for me either.

Me too and I am really angry. This has wasted my afternoon and I haven't found a way to get them back.

Most of these recommended fixes generate a message that all existing data on the device will be deleted. Completely unacceptable. Where are you Apple support?

Thanks, I turned it off and then right back on again, then opened the Folders app and the folders were downloading. I did not reboot first.

Looks like everything was restored.

I am furious that this happened! A lot of people are panicking over lost info.
