all of my icloud notes disappeared from my notes app after agreeing to new terms and conditions just now

Same here just done the update, all notes are gone from my phone. Checked iCloud and they are all still there. Done the settings check which people suggested and also rebooted my phone but Notes were still at zero. Deleted the app, redownloaded it and the notes slowly started downloading to the phone.

On 11/6 I agreed to the update and then noticed all my notes disappeared! I did not want to delete the app and reinstall so I tried doing a few things but—- what worked was that I went to 

-Settings 

-Tapped the top part where name is, Apple ID, iCloud purchases

-tap iCloud 

-scrolled to Notes-then I switched the toggle from green to off/grey. Then it said if I wanted to continue all my notes would be deleted. I tapped CANCEL. 

-Then I went back to notes and they began loading one by one. 

Hope this works for someone. 

I spent almost an hour talking to Apple support and they were not able to help. What seems to have worked was following the suggestion from some in this community: I uninstalled and reinstalled the Notes app. I was able to do this and get all the notes back on my phone, but I did have everything in iCloud. I didn't create any notes just on the phone.

Yes! This worked. If your notes are gone on your phone and still present in iCloud, then delete the Notes app from your phone. Then redownload Notes from the App Store.

go to settings and iCloud and notes to make sure that syncing is turned on for notes. Mine came back. Yay!

ensure iCloud account is selected

and sign back in with your Apple ID.

that restored all of my 100s of notes, but it was a deeply stressful time.

The same problem happened to me. Restarting the phone didn’t help. I had to add back in the iCloud account under settings>notes>accounts (even though it was already listed there), and it took a few times, too, or at least it feels like it, but now they’re reloading, thank God.

I deleted the app then reinstalled it. Everything that was saved on iCloud downloaded back onto it after opening.

Mine too. In settings, notes, I added my iCloud account again, even though it showed my account was there. I rebooted my iPhone and the iCloud notes downloaded into my folder.

I had to go through this as well. I tried the solutions above and it didn’t work. The Apple service desk had me do the same things but he added the additional step of going to the mail in settings and in my case the google account and turning on Notes there. That solved it for me.

the same thing happened to me. when i realised, i really panicked - I’m a writer with well over 200 notes in icloud - not just important details to remember such as information about my bank accounts, but also over 100 characters and notes about my writing and my books, and i thought i’d lost them all, which was absolutely horrifying. the only thing that worked for me was deleting the app and redownloading it, so if you’re reading this and the settings trick didn’t work for you, i’d suggest taking screenshots of whatever notes you have left that you need to keep, then deleting the notes app and reinstalling it.

I think "Close out" meant to "traverse back out of going to the depth described". Hit the backspace to leave the "Settings" app.

Because I think that when I exited out of "Settings", and then returned to the Notes app, the folders and files started reloading.

Yes, I just closed the settings app. Looks like other people are needing to reboot their phones in addition to this

Yeah, reinstalling the Notes app did the trick for me.

I do my fanfiction writing there, so needless to say, I was FREAKING OUT!
