Can't Set Up IPad Pro M4 13"

This is my second one. The first one bricked out of the box and this one won't let me set it up either. I'm about ready to call it quits and find a Windows product. Idky I'm even giving Apple another chance.

It's asking me to sign in with my Apple ID. I put in my correct username and password and then it spins and spins and nothing happens.

Are you attempting to transfer data from an existing iPad during initial setup - or are you simply setting-up without transferring or restoring data from a backup to the new iPad?

If you are attempting to transfer data - or restore from a backup - there is a known issue that may be encountered when setting-up a new (unused) iPad and updating to iPadOS 18.x. You will need to interrupt the stalled process with a forced-restart:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

After restarting the iPad, allow the new iPad to complete initial setup and software update without attempting to transfer data, or restoring a backup, to the new device. Instead, simply set-up using your AppleID (now known as your Apple Account).

When the update process has completed, reset the iPad - and THEN perform the transfer/restore if required:

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Erase All Content & Settings
