Since the new update to 18.1, I struggle with the big keyboard for emojis. It slows down my experience and to be honest it’s easier to just type :) than to search through the now looooong list of emojis. I just want to adjust it - why did apple do that and more importantly, why can’t I adjust it in the settings :(

As your iPhone 12 mini could be four years old, it's worth checking for a weak, aging battery which would cause that. So...
Does your iPhone 12 mini still have its original battery?
And what's the Maximum Capacity % here?...

Not only are the emojis too big, but I find my phone responds slower than usual. And yes, my cache is clear. I do not keep a lot of stuff on my phone
