How to silence all notifications except one contact without using Do Not Disturb mode?

I want to know if I can just put my phone on silent and still allow audio notifications from one person’s texts WITHOUT putting my phone in Do Not Disturb. I just want to hit the silence button and not have to go into settings and everything else, but still get sound notifications from only 1 contact if they text me. I asked this around a group of people and I’ve looked online and it seems it’s a feature quite a few people would like to have.

You can turn on emergency bypass in the contact record for the person you want to let through.

Keep in mind that this will bypass silent mode as well as any focus settings including Do Not Disturb.

I don't think that will do what the OP wants. I think they want to use the ring/vibrate switch on the phone to silence all notifications, but still want audible notifications from one individual.

I think emergency bypass is the only way to do that.

Favorites didn't used to be silenced by the mute switch, at least for a time but that seems to have changed (again?).
