There might be methods you can use with Object Tracking, but I don't have any experience with that (still in 10.4.10). Hopefully somebody else will chime in...

Functions used:
It's difficult to make accurate suggestions without seeing the template you want to use. This is because there is a considerable difference in movement between the right and left sides of the smartphone in the example.
The right one is relatively easy to make because the main movements are straight forward movement and rotation.
The left side is more difficult as it changes from the back side to the front side and requires reproducing three-dimensional movement.
The one on the right is for beginners, and the one on the left is for intermediate and advanced users. Both can be created using only FCP's default functions, but require the user's ability.
I do have motion...was just hoping to not nave to go that route. I appreciate you chiming in!!!!!
FCP has tracking built-in, use that.
