MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) Software update

When will there be version 13.0 or more for these computers? There is a chance that such a version will not be released and there is no choice to buy a new computer

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.7

Never. macOS 12 (Monterey) is the end of the line for the MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015).

It is your choice as to whether to buy a new computer. I used a 27" Late 2009 iMac – which can't run anything later than High Sierra – until fall of last year, when the failure of the internal hard drive forced the issue.

That was long after High Sierra was no longer one of "the most recent three" – and perhaps I should have replaced that computer a bit earlier, to get things like USB 3, Thunderbolt 3, and a Retina 5K screen. But that computer was still able to do much of what I needed it to do long after macOS support ended.

Adobe and Microsoft have a policy of supporting only "the most recent three" versions of macOS. Monterey is no longer one of those. There are some applications that you can get for Monterey that may prolong the useful life of your Mac, including the current versions of

Monterey is also enough to run Carbon Copy Cloner V6 (no longer the current version - but still a supported one) or SuperDuper!

This said, given that your computer was released more than nine and a half years ago, you may decide that it is time to get a newer Mac.
