Identify a screensaver photo

My screensaver is set to randomly pick photos from my iPhoto Library as screensaver photos which is really (really) great, I keep seeing so many photos of my kids and past that I probably wouldn't get to see otherwise. I'd like to identify how to find particular ones I see and share!

Is there a quick easy way to do this?

It's quite frustrating that there doesn't appear to be and it would be great if Apple could incorporate this "show desktop photo path" "share" functionality somehow!

Thanks & look forward to any replies.

You could try a third-party screensaver. The free Art Saver lets you display metadata for a photo, for example: https://user.informatik.uni-bremen.de/zach/software/ArtSaver/index.html

I am starting an Apple Script, when I want to see a screensaver with random photos. The script will display the title, date and location for each photo in the Notification Center: Script: A Slideshow With Titles and Loca… - Apple Community

It is not really a screensaver, but a slideshow with random, full screen pictures.

I know of no way to see the name of the picture being shown in the screensaver. You may be able to do a search in Photos for some details. You could use a Smart Album with details that you see in the picture

I used the name and "Text" "is" something in the picture. This gets broad categories like car or house. You can also use the Map

Here's the fair grounds for the Texas State Fair, and the picture I found above is at the Roller Coaster.

Apple Intelligence in the newer Silicon Macs (M1, M2, M3, M4) running Sequoia offers more clever searches.

It's a feature I'd like for exactly the same reason and I've a vague recollection that many years ago it used to display the path and file, although I might be getting confused with an app I used to have. I spent a while experimenting with various key combinations and looking for recently modified files but never got anywhere. If you find anything please post back.
