1. Re-enable iCloud Private Relay
Sometimes, toggling Private Relay off and then on again can resolve the issue. Here's how to do that:
2. Clear Safari Data (Reset Safari)
Corrupted cache or website data in Safari might be causing this issue. Resetting Safari can sometimes resolve these kinds of errors.
3. Check for macOS Update
Sometimes Apple releases minor updates that fix bugs or compatibility issues. If there’s a fix for this Private Relay issue, it may be available in a newer patch.
4. Change DNS Servers
Some users have reported that switching DNS servers can resolve Private Relay-related issues, especially if there's a conflict with the DNS settings. Here’s how to change your DNS:
5. Contact Apple Support
If the above steps don't fix the issue, there may be a bug in macOS Sonoma 14.7.1 related to Private Relay that Apple needs to address. In this case, contacting Apple Support would be the next best step. They can either offer a specific fix or escalate the issue if it's a known bug.
I had to write this ticket from memory so forgive me for the lack of detail. All I can remember is after doing the Sonoma security update last night (14.7.1), when attempting to view many of my daily web sites with Safari I was met with a blank page and an error that referred to a problem with Private Relay. When I turned Private Relay off in settings I could view the web sites. Turned PR back on and the problem returned.
What is the problem?
