How do I restore lost notes on my iPhone 12?

Thanks. I tried this and many other trouble shooting advice before I posted. The only thing that worked was to delete the Notes app, and reinstall it. Before I deleted it, I logged into iCloud on my computer to ensure that Notes was there... it was. So when I reinstalled the Notes app, the Notes finally pulled back down from the Cloud. Not at first, but after about 10 minutes they pulled in. Jeez! I wonder what the heck happened?
