Why am I receiving new device sign-in alerts on my iPad?

We get SO many emails re: security like “was it you who just signed in, if so, ignore this message” etc etc but….the “a new device just signed into your account” is yet another message layered on top of all the others.

I have no kids, no grandkids, same iPad for years, just me using it, same account - you get it - there’s just no way this is a valid message and it’s so annoying.

As well, if accidentally close a website window I’ve signed into, like Etsy, Netflix, etc - I have to sign in ALL OVER AGAIN with PW or PC and then OTP. This, can happen 2 minutes after the last time I signed in. This doesn’t happen on my Mac, but it does on the iPad - every single time.

It’s like the iPad footprint is not recognized. It’s exhausting going through all these security hoops, not having your iPad device recognized, and having to do it all over again constantly.

Those services are using Two Factor Authentication and you should have the option on the login page to "Remember this device", which should stop you from enter the OTP code. It appears this was done on your Mac, so the service recognizes the device, but has not yet been done on your iPad, so every time you use it to sign in, it thinks it is a new device.
