Hi Johu! According from your description it seems you might of gotten a iPhone with a Carrier Locked SIM. If you could please follow these steps.
Scroll down until you see Carrier Lock usually on the Bottom .
If it says No Sim Restrictions then it might be the SIM Carrier issue if it says something else please reply to me.
