MacBook Air boot issue with 'The volume on disk0 couldn't be unmounted' error

Hello everyone!

This is my first post :)

Since few days ago my Macbook Air does not boot and I get this screen:

If I choose "Startup Disk..." I don't have disk to choose:

So I choose "Recovery" and then "Reinstall MacOS Big Sur"

But I don't have HDD to choose neither:

So I tried choosing "Disk Utility":

I clicked "Erase" but I get this error:

Any Idea? I tried to install MacOS Monterrey using USB but I got the same result :(

About my Mac:

-Macbook Air

-Model: A2337

-MacOS: Big Sur

Thanks in advance!

-Jota

That appears to be a MacBook Air 13" (M1, 2020) model.

Within Disk Utility click "View" and select "Show All Devices" so that the physical drive and hidden Container appears on the left pane of Disk Utility. If you want to try to save the installation, then try running Disk Utility First Aid first on the physical drive, then on the Container (it will automatically scan all volumes within that Container as well). Then see if you the internal drive appears as a valid destination for the installer if the system still won't boot normally.

If you just want to erase the system, then you will need to delete the "Volume Group".....see the instructions in the following Apple article (do not erase the whole physical SSD since some items are necessary to boot even into the Startup Options screen).

Worst case you will need access to another Mac in order to perform a DFU firmware Restore.
