Hello, I installed the iOS 18.1 update and the photos from the hidden album disappeared, although before the installation all the photos were there. Where could they have gone and what should I do to restore them?

I think I’ve found out what’s happened, well why the album wasn’t showing in the photos app. In settings>apps>photos there’s an option to show hidden album which you can turn on or off. Just incase anyone else wasn’t aware of this.

try clicking, customize, and re-order at the bottom of the screen, then selecting utilities to make the utilities section visible. That’s where you should find your hidden photos.
We’re all aware of the “ show hidden album “ switch. That’s not the issue. The issue is that the hidden album just isn’t available anymore. If I flip the switch, the hidden album still doesn’t reveal itself. I’m even still able to hide new photos, but that doesn’t force the hidden album to reveal itself. I’m now on iOS 18.2 but the issue could have started earlier than that because I haven’t checked my hidden folder for a while.

Is the Hidden album empty, even after you unlock it?
no, I went to the "hidden" album and I didn't have a single photo there after the update, they just disappeared, but I can't figure out where.
