Fingerprint on right side of iPad doesn’t work anymore?

I have iPad Mini 6 and I have 2 places to add a fingerprint. The 1st is the top and that works fine but I also have a fingerprint pad on the right of my iPad but it seems like it doesn’t work anymore. I went to settings, fingerprint and it only asks for the top pad. Is the 2nd pad disabled now?

Be assured, any iPad that supports TouchID has only ONE TouchID sensor. The iPad mini6 has its TouchID sensor incorporated within the top sleep/wake button.

Older models of iPad that have a physical Home Button at the base of the screen bezel incorporate the TouchID sensor with the Home Button.

Hi, I appreciate you getting back to me and I’m sure most only have 1 finger pad. However, I have used both in the past. When I purchased this on 7/30/22 and went to settings, Touch ID & Password it asked me for my fingerprint for the top. Then it asked again for the side pad. I have 2 on mine and have used both. I’m positive of this. Only after updates it stopped asking for the 2nd one. Well I guess I have to deal with one.The side one was good when I use it horizontally. Have a nice day and let m know if anyone else had 2.
