I am unable to reset my MacBook Pro

I am trying to erase an old Mac. I have a problem when it goes to find my Mac, as this is an old inactive email. I get a message "Apple account locked." When I click unlock, the Apple account is not valid. How can I progress, as this has to be input to proceed to the next stage? HELP.
