My Mac is saying I have 937.52 GB worth of applications when in reality (after doing some calculations) I've used less than 20GB for my applications. It also indicates that I've used 924.67 GB of iCloud storage when in reality its less than 25GB. Is this a bug?

I completely understand that Disk utility is the only way to get a accurate reading, but what I’m puzzled about is why its indicating that I’ve used over 900 GB in solely applications when I have so little applications. Is this a bug? If so is there a way to fix it?
The only accurate report of storage space is what you get using Disk Utility.
