USB ports not recognized

I have an Aorus CV27Q display for my mac mini. It has two USB ports on the back of it. How do I get Mac OS to see and use those ports. When I plug things into them nothing works. This monitor was used on my PC which Window 10 did identify, so the ports do work.

Connect the Display’s USB upstream port with the supplied cable to the mini’s USB-A port:


If the mini comes without a USB-A port, use a C-A adapter:
