What are these "random things" you speak of?
Take a Screenshot:
Provide a screenshot, and see if it is seen in it. If so, then it is a feature of the GUI. If not, then it is a hardware issue, and you should get this serviced.
Genius Bar Appointment:
Take this in to Apple for a Genius Bar Appointment at your local Apple Store.
