Setting up new iPhone 16 pro data from iphone 12 pro taking so long

So I started setting up my new iphone 16 pro at around 9:30pm and I thought it was only gonna take 10-15 minutes. But since my iphone 12 pro is in iOs 18 already, the 16 pro needed to update as well, so I did. Then after the update, the phone restarted and I did the setting up again til it got stuck on the spinning circle that says “SIGNING IN”, it was like that til 2am that I decided to search on google why is it like that.

And I stumble in somebody’s answer to exit set up on the 12pro so I can reset and restart the 16 pro again to do the setting up again.

Miraculously, that worked!

So this isn’t really a question, but more of an answer for ppl who’s gonna be experiencing the same.

Before setting up your iphone make sure it’s updated to the same iOs as your old phone so that you won’t have this issue when setting up your new phone OR if it’s not possible to update til you “set up” first then do it then after it updates, restart and reset the phone again then do the SETUP process for the last time.
