Edited photos copied as original to different device

After editing photos in the Photos app on my iPhone 16 Pro Max, I copied the edited photos to my PC and Samsung Galaxy phone using KDE Connect. However, when I opened the copied photos on both my Linux PC and Samsung Galaxy, the edits were not visible, and the photos appeared in their original, unedited state.

Is this expected behaviour, or is there something wrong? How can I copy the photos with the edits intact to my PC or another mobile device?

I just followed your advice to use "Share > Save to Files" and then shared the photos to my PC and phone using KDE Connect. It worked - the edited photos are now on both my PC and phone. Thanks a lot!

This also makes it clear that this is the way to do it.

KDE Connect does not seem to be an Apple product. You would need to talk to those folks to see what their app does.

When I use "Share>Save to Files" I get the edited version. I save to iPhone Files andcould copy from there, or, I could select an external drive that's plugged in to the phone.

Great! And you can delete the pictures from Files, since they are duplicates of the ones in Photos.
