I use the background sounds on my iPhone to fall asleep. However, I don't need it to play all night. Is there a way to set a timer or have Siri stop the background sounds after a specific period of time? (I asked Siri to stop playing after 30 minutes but that didn't work.)

You can set a timer to stop playing the sound by going to clock app > Timers > set the timer that you want and then tape on “ When timer ends” option > choose “ stop playing “ option > tap “ set” .

I don’t think that its possible as it is a very old device. Hence its a no.
Did you follow the instructions in detail?
if so can you pleas tell us what is the app you play the sound on?
Is it possible to set a timer for background sounds to stop?
