Sleeping drivers on mac
I purchased a new hp printer that does not work. HP tech looked at my drivers and said that most (hundreds) are in sleep mode. How do I repair this problem?
MacBook Air, macOS 14.6

Define "does not work"?
Sounds like the "HP tech" who "looked at" your drivers doesn't know what they are doing...
That or you didn't actually contact HP and fell for a tech support scam, giving access to your computer to a criminal.
It will help people know what to suggest if you tell us what specific model of printer you have and how you're connecting it (USB, WiFi, Ethernet?). Otherwise we can only guess.
The HP "tech", as Tim said, did not know what he/she is talking about. It's completely normal for macOS (or any other modern OS) to put processes to sleep when they're not needed. It's definitely not an indication of any problem with your system.
Regards.
The tech showed me a list of hundreds of drivers on my Mac. Only a handful did not have “sleeping “ notice. I cannot set up my new hp printer. Help?
Where, exactly, did you get the contact information for this ‘tech’?
