My iPhone 15 Pro Max is overheating unexpectedly

I have noticed a few times that my iPhone start heating all of sudden without doing anything to it. Last night, I placed my phone in my car's dashboard and when I get it out after like 20-25 minutes it was heating like **** and battery dropped from 65% to 20% in these 20-25 minutes. I have noticed it a few more times in the past as well specially if I place my mobile under my pillow while asleep. Currently using iPhone 15 pro max and same case used to happen with my older phones as well, I had 14 pro max before 15 and 11 pro before that.

Have anyone experienced the same?

Putting an iPhone under a pillow while sleeping is very dangerous. In the past that has caused fires. Do not place your iPhone on the dash either. Please review the information in the Apple Support article I linked to below.

Important safety information for iPhone - Apple Support

>>For example, don’t sleep on a device, power adapter, or wireless charger, or place them under a blanket, pillow, or your body, when it’s connected to a power source. Keep your iPhone, the power adapter, and any wireless charger in a well-ventilated area when in use or charging.<<
