Preferably one that can run iOS 17 or 18. There are a number of apps that require at least iOS 15 or 16 – and the developers of the Netflix app recently raised the minimum requirement for it to iOS 17.

iOS 12 is the end of the line for the iPhone 5s, 6, and 6 Plus. Those iPhones cannot run iOS 13 or later, probably in part because they have only 1 GB of RAM.

iOS 12.5.7 is the latest release of iOS 12.
