ipod dac Wolfson v cirrus logic

Am I correct to assume that both the 5th generation iPod classic wolfson dac and the 7th generation iPod classic cirrus dac both pass an analogue signal out via the charging port 30 pin port, but only the 7th generation can connect to an idevice usb port, thanks
