My wife and I have both recently discovered that photos of our daughter, specifically, have gone missing from our phones. we have not deleted any pictures yet neither of us can find the missing pictures. They are pictures from milestones that we were hoping to share. Is there any way to recover the missing photos?

If you don't keep your own backups to an external drive, then there is probably not much hope. You can see this:

Basically the above says to look in Recently Deleted and in Hidden.
Check your Library thoroughly-- the pictures may not be where you expect. If the date is accidentally changed, for instance, they may be in a completely different time period. You can use the search field with a date or location or her name to help hunt.
Pictures specifically with my daughter in them have begun to go missing dating back to 2015.
