Not exactly the same issue, since I am referring to the AppleTV+ application for Android, but funny enough, it's the same error you are getting.
I have been having the same issues forever (5+ months) on my NVIDIA SHIELD TV 2019 device connected to a Hisense TV. It all worked just fine before that. I can browse titles, but not play anything at all. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app to no avail.
