Connecting mac and ipad as second monitor

Is there any way to connect a MacBook with an iPad as a second screen with both devices on the same family plan? The iPad is shared with me and members of my household, but it is on our family plan, and I use it for school. I want to use it as a second monitor with my MacBook.
