Is Unrestriction possible?

Hi, my Apple Cash Account has been restricted/locked. Not sure if it’s permanent or something to do with credit but I am restricted /locked. I am unable to send, receive, or use Apple Cash and I have contacted support to see if there’s anything else I could do further. The answer is short and no further details are given other than no and a script read to me. I never got to use my Apple Cash account the one time for me to try to use it in all red states my account is locked account has been restricted. I have had two phones at one point and thought maybe that was the reason. One time it said to verify my identity I called and done that. Still stated restricted/locked so I contacted customer support again they have no answer to why I am restricted from my account they stated it’s confidential and they don’t know the reason why just that I am not allowed to use Apple Cash or have an account permanently and sent me the terms & conditions for Apple Cash. That never answered my questions. I even informed the representative I was a victim of identity theft that happened in the past but that meant nothing. Just no explanation? I’m thinking maybe identity verification, (which I called to verify myself). Or multiple accounts under my name, (which I can understand bc I did have two phones under two different emails but same social). Or suspicious illegal activity, (I don’t do drugs never been to jail the most I’ve ever had was 1 speeding ticket). Or fraudulent activity under my social. (That is the only thing I can think of where my identity information was stolen) I need help yet there’s no true answer to my questions. What made my account restricted? Why am I not able to utilize it? What can I do to fix it? I want my Apple Cash account to be active and work not just my personal information with a separate bank account.

My best guess is it’s related to the identity theft. Your personal information was probably sold on the Dark Web. It’s possible that dozens of fake accounts at different banks have been opened and used fro fraudulent activities, including all those things you don’t do.

>>Why is positive ID required?

The Patriot Act requires that lenders, banks etc obtain a confirmed ID.

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.<<

The bottom line is banks are private businesses. They are not required to open an account for you. Your recent identity theft and fraud presents too much risk for the bank. End of story. Sorry.

Moving forward, contact the four credit bureau’s I’ve listed below and get a copy of each credit report. Dispute any credit report errors or fraud. Work with them to lock your credit report and block any future fraudulent activity.
