Suddenly cmd and option selectively working

My command and option keys are suddenly only working sometimes.

⌘-tab (expecting app switcher) -> acts like I'm just hitting tab.
option-space.

⌘-space (expect spotlight) -> does nothing

⌥-space (expect chatgpt) -> types a space.

cut copy and paste short cuts work fine.

I restarted once and it was okay for a second but quickly stopped working again. Got rid of a bunch of login items. I fed chatgpt a list of all the running processes that might intercept it but it couldn't find any.

Any ideas?

My computer is only a few days old although I did migrate from an old computer.

There are times, when Migrating from Old Computer to New computer it just works

Then, there are times, when issues that may have existed on the Old Machine and migrated to the New Computer.

The user is left with a mess.

An option could be to use the application Etrecheck and then Post back the Full Report - copy and paste - >>>> using the Additional Text Icon <<<<

We can examine the report and possible pinpoint various software issue and suggest remedial action

The other option, which far more extensive in time and effort on you part

Erase your Mac and reset it to factory settings

The above will Not Touch the Operating System, that reminds intact

If going this route.

I do suggest to Only Migrate your User Account and nothing more
