After iOS 18.1 upgrade I cannot select an option when calling my doctor

I am using an iPhone 13 and upgraded the software to iOS 18.1. I now no longer can select an option when I call my doctor or bank. When the phone system asks me to "select 1 for......" it does not recognise me pressing 1 on the keypad and just continues with their selection message. I am using Sky Mobile. Very frustrating, particularly for important calls.

Any help/suggestions will be most appreciated.

It isn’t a general problem, and isn’t a specific problem with iOS 18.1; it has been reported sporadically for many years. It is a glitch with either your carrier or the telco that serves the number you are calling; usually calling again a couple of times it will eventually work. You can also try asking your carrier.

You were correct, it was a carrier problem. I switched my mobile provider and the problem went away.
