After 14.7.1 my Applications directory is repeated into infinity

My Applications directory now ALSO contains an Applications directory, which in turn contains everything the first one does, INCLUDING an Applications directory, which in turn contains everything ... and so on.

I've opened each applications directory in turn, just 12 times so far because I don't know if something will break if I keep going.

This can't be right??????

I’m not entirely sure of the solution, but it might help to know that your Applications directory has likely become a symbolic link (symlink) pointing to itself, causing an infinite loop.

Resolving this issue will likely involve removing the symlink(s), but proceed with caution as it can lead to accidental file deletions.

Before attempting anything, make sure you have a complete Time Machine backup!

Thank you for answering, but I don't know what this means: "removing the symlink(s)"

and I don't know what it is that "can lead to accidental file deletions", so I do not know in what this caution consists.

Anyway, I made a backup right before I updated to 14.7.1., so I'll just have to read up first on how to restore from backup, then try deleting... the first of the "extra" Applications folders?

After 14.7.1 my Applications directory is repeated into infinity
