My Macbook Air M3 does not show my Apple Watch as a nearby device. The Macbook and Watch cannot connect by Bluetooth though both have Bluetooth ON and are on the same WiFi network.

Finally solved the problem by resetting the Apple SE Watch. Since I was taking the time of all of you in this Community and I knew it should work, I completely reset the watch.

Please check if your apple watch is allowed to unlock your mac in settings.
In Sonoma it is located under "Touch ID and Password". Scroll down and check if your watch is enabled there.

Apple Watch doesn't connect Macs, instead using iPhone Apple Watch Application to pair.
My Apple Watch bypasses the password on my MiniMac and on an older MacBook, but not on my MacBook Air M3. Weird.
