128GB Sandisk Extreme Pro USB Stick formats as 15MB

I have a brand new 128GB Sandisk Extreme Pro SSD flash usb stick.

When formatting it says it is only 15.7MB.

This happens regardless of what type is chosen FAT/ExFat/MacOS

What is going on?????

This happens on both my macbook pro and mac studio.

not sure if it's the same thing but some of my external SSD drives have an encryption setup so if I connect them they only show a small storage % where I can download an app that let me type in a password to enable the encryption that enable me to access all the storage of the drive
