Hi, my friend has bought me an apple gift card through email and is trying to send it to me but I have not received it through email and it’s been about 20 hours. She sent it to me from her google phone to my iPad.

You will need to check that your friend has actually sent the electronic Gift Card to your email address.
If sent directly to you from your friends email App, there will be a copy of the email in the Mail App's Sent Mail folder.
