I installed Facebook app on my iPadOS 17.7.1. I am using the same credentials to sign in as at www.facebook.com, but the app keeps asking me if I forgot my password. I am unable to log in. The FB Help Pages do not cover this scenario. I see a few hundred people had this problem in 2021: Can’t sign into FB on my ipad - Apple Community. Does anyone know a fix?

Thank you for the suggestion, though I will not try it because I have just found a solution that worked for me: use phone number instead of email addres while logging in. Facebook already knew my phone number so it was the easy way for me, but if it didn't I would use your solution. I hope others will benefit.
Some have reported that if they signed into Facebook Messenger
first, they were then able to sign into Facebook. You may wish to
give that procedure a try.
Same here. I think the problem is in the facebook app on ipad because it keeps on showing the error that the password is wrong even if it is correct. also if the password is wrong you can't try multiple times because it can be locked,maybe the facebook app on ipad is not connected to server
