apple card with apple pay getting declined

My brand new apple card with apple pay worked only with Apple and never after. Is there a waiting period?

Then it’s a merchant issue, merchants network or merchants credit card that blocked the transaction.

Only the issuing bank can decline a transaction. If your bank does see the transaction, they can’t approve or decline transactions.

Apple is not a bank and can’t approve or decline a transaction. Have you tried using your card with Apple Pay at any other merchants?

Well, that’s not correct. I had to call in for checking the reason and they were declined by the GS bank and they don’t show up on the wallet either, for whatever reason. It was marked as identification not verified and no Txt messages were triggered - it should have, but it never came. Not even an email about fraudulent transaction. I am OK with being cautious but this failed.

Unfortunately, this is an extremely bad experience for a customer. Luckily my Costco Citi saved me and with the same cashback.

Never will be using this card unless I am buying an Apple product itself for that additional percentage.

I’m sorry I was in error.

That’s extremely unusual. Yours is the first report of a decline by the GS (bank) and it not appearing in the Apple Card on your iPhone.

Texts can be declined and I’ve had the happen with several banks including Citi, Capital One, Chase, Wells Fargo and several others.

Again, sorry to have misled you. I would escalate the issue with GS and look for a resolution.

You don’t happen to use a VPN or ever had VPN software on you iPhone have you?
