Connecting old Apple HD Cinema display display port to 2024 MacBook Pro M3

Hi, I am trying to connect an old Apple HD Cinema display with display port to 2024 MacBook Pro M3, all the adapters I have tried dont seem to work can anyone tell me if this display is compatible with the M3 or is there an adapter available.

The Apple HD Cinema Display does not have a Display Port connector. It uses an old style pill shaped Apple proprietary connector ADC, DVI-D or even dual DVI-D. Are you sure you ave HD Cinema Display?


What is the model number for it?


You probably have a later Apple Cinema Display (not the HD ones).


If it's one of the LED Cinema displays, you'll need to find an adapter that has Mini Display port compatibility rather than Thunderbolt.


But you will need to identify the exact model, before we can provide a compatible adapter.

That's appears to be DVI, in which case I would probably suggest removing the Mini Display Port Adapter, and just going straight from Thunderbolt / USB-C to DVI.


Combining adapters is always going to be unpredictable.
