Epson printer not printing from Mac

Unable to print to a new epson printer. Green light showing as connected but unable to print. I'm able to print from iPhone but not from Mac?

I shared information on a similar case the other day and was able to resolve it today.

If your OS is Sequoia, you may be able to solve the problem by opening the corresponding issue in EPSON's latest driver, which reports various problems listed in the URL below.

In my case, the problem was that when I started printing, I got a “Searching for printer” message and could not print forever, but I had clicked “Do not allow” in the “Allow local network connections” dialog that appears on the Mac screen after the printer driver is installed. This was the cause of the problem.

I am also using the same Epson printer and MacBook as OWDavies and I had the same problem, so I am writing this in the hope that we can solve it together.


This is my case, and the environment of use and description of the situation are as follows:


Device (no longer able to print) : Macbook Pro 13-inch, 2020

OS: Sequoia 15.1.1

Printer: EPSON (model number is EW-052A)

Connection method: Wi-Fi for both Mac and EPSON


Situation description:


I have been using this EPSON printer for 2 years now, Mac for about 4 years.

The problem that prevented me from printing was caused by updates to the Mac OS, and each time it was solved by installing the EPSON printer driver that corresponded to the OS.

This time, as well, I installed the printer driver corresponding to the Sequoia Mac OS, but this time I cannot print.

As shown in the attachment, it shows “Printing” but it is forever “Searching for printer” and does not output.


The next measures I took were as follows :


(1) I disconnected and reconnected the Wi-Fi connection.

→No improvement.

(2) I restarted the PC.

→No improvement.

(3) I checked the printer's network connection diagnostic report.

→All diagnostic results were “OK” and the signal condition was “very good

(4) Checked SSID using “Terminal” on Mac.

→No problem

(5) Printing was possible from the EPSON Smart Panel app on the iPhone.


After implementing the above as advised by EPSON customer staff and segregating the causes, we came to the conclusion that the cause seems to be the Mac.


So I was checking to see if the same event had occurred on a Mac and found this topic.

I am not sure if my situation is exactly the same as OWDavies', but any advice you can give me would be appreciated.
