Compass app is frozen on iPhone 16 Pro Max

The compass is frozen pointing north. All location services enabled, have deleted and re-installed. Very annoying as I need to see what way I’m facing when walking in the middle of nowhere. It also means the pointer on the OS Maps is frozen. All ok on iPad and was on my iPhone 14 Pro Max.
