Face ID stopped working after iOS 18.1.

I had the same problem with an 2 month on 15pro max. After 2 weeks and multiple restarts I went to an Apple Store. The true depth camera came up as faulty in store (phone diagnostic was clear but in store can dive a bit deeper). After the repair is worked for 2 days and then the fault returned. After updating to iOS 18.1.1 on 19 November the fault cleared and I could set up faceID again

18.1.1 fixed it for me.

My FaceID stopped working after installing 18.1, and I hoped the 18.1.1 would fix it but it didn’t. I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Does anyone have this issue specifically on the 16 Pro Max?

I took my phone out of its protective case, and I was able to setup face ID. It's worth trying that.
